Everest (2015) is a movie that shows us the dangers of climbing Mount Everest. The movie Everest was released in theaters on September 18, 2015. This is a moving and inspiring film which tells the story of three different expeditions, whose fates are linked to one another through fate and circumstance. We see very different people with very different backgrounds, but each with their own obsessions which propel them up the mountain. Everest is an epic adventure thriller with breathtaking cinematography that really brings home the magnitude of this great mountain, and makes you feel like you're experiencing it first hand. The film begins with the tragic death of Scott Fischer at the bottom of the mountain. We then see Klev Schoening come to terms with his wife's death during an attempt on their own summit. We are all moved watching his journey as he searches for his wife, and finally seems to find her. When he gets back to camp, he learns that Ang Dorjee was also missing in action, and says that Ang's loss is far greater than his own. It turns out that Klev's neighbor Lhakpa Sherpa was one of Ang's teammates, and sadly she too has died on Everest. Ang Dorjee's body is borne by the wind and he flies over the Khumbu icefall. We then see the helicopter team heading out to bring their bodies back.Next, we are introduced to Jamie McGuinness, who is climbing with Conrad Anker, and Benji & Sese Mulejee, who are climbing with Garrett Madison. We see Conrad Anker traveling to Nepal specifically for this expedition. He was motivated by his love of Scott Fischer, whom he had climbed with. He has brought his cameraman along so that he can film the summit for Scott's children - Leni and Alexi. Jamie McGuinness is new to the expedition, having just joined the altitude camp, needing to raise money for his college. He is more focused on making it to the summit than reaching the top of Everest, but he joins the others anyway. As they head out on their final push, Jamie has a terrible nightmare of his wake up call at home on base camp. He wakes up with Conrad Anker's camera crew in his tent filming him as he goes through his gear and gear that he will be leaving behind. The first climber on Everest that we see is Garrett Madison who survived an avalanche on Baruntse Peak back in 2011, which killed eleven people. He narrowly survived with his brother Benji, and they were both stranded for two weeks at high altitude. Benji had to be rescued before Garrett could find him, but Garrett was left behind to continue climbing alone. He is now making his fifth attempt on Everest. On the way up the mountain Jamie's tent is hit by a sudden snowstorm. Luckily, they are able to get off the mountain with no injuries, but Jamie becomes obsessed with following them up the mountain so that they can't go back without Jamie too. They run into Ang Dorjee's widow Lhakpa Sherpa who tells them about Ang's death on Everest.
